This Gartner article studies how these ten technology trends will generate new opportunities and disruptions over the next 10 years.
These trends are structured around the impact they have on people (customers, employees, etc.) and the spaces people inhabit (home, office, car, etc.).
In this first post, we will see the 5 People-centric trends (Hyperautomation, Multiexperience, Democratization, Human Increase and Transparency and Traceability), and we will explain Onesait Platform’s value proposal on them.
TREND #1: HYPERAUTOMATION
Automation is based on the use of technology to automate tasks that previously required human labor.
Hyper-automation, on the other hand, refers to the use of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to increasingly automate processes. Hyperautomation also refers to the sophistication of automation (i.e., discovering, analyzing, designing, automating, measuring, monitoring, re-evaluating).
But no tool can entirely replace humans yet, so hyperautomation involves a combination of tools including Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Intelligent Business Process Management Suites (iBPMS) and Artificial Intelligence.
Although not the primary focus, hyperautomation often leads to the creation of a Digital Twin of the Organization (DTO), allowing organizations to visualize how functions, processes, and key performance indicators interact with each other to create value.
In the case of Onesait Platform, our hyperautomation proposal is focused on the construction of digital twins that represent the different processes and systems in the organization, allowing the platform to execute these securely, as well as on the visual orchestration of these Digital Twins, allowing the organization’s business team to manage these processes without the underlying technological complexities.
TREND #2: MULTIEXPERIENCE
In this trend, the traditional idea of a computer evolves from a single interaction point to include multi-sensorial and multi-touch interfaces.
In the future, this trend will become what is known as an environmental experience, but currently multi-experience focuses on more or less complete immersive experiences using augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), mixed reality, multi-channel human-machine interfaces and detection technologies.
TREND #3: DEMOCRATIZATION
Democratization of technology focuses on providing people with easy access to technical or commercial expertise without needing specialized and expensive training.
It focuses on 4 key areas: application development, data and analysis, design and knowledge.
This trend is often referred to as «Citizen Access». There is already a movement in many cities where citizens build and program their own devices, acting as data scientists, exploiting the information provided in Open Data format by their city, or building mobile applications.

TREND #4: HUMAN AUGMENTATION
«Human Augmentation» is nothing but the use of technology to enhance a person’s cognitive and physical experiences, changing an inherent physical ability by implanting or hosting a technology in or on the body.
You don’t have to think about complex futuristic systems: The automotive industry uses portable devices to improve worker safety. In other industries, including retail and travel, handheld devices are used to increase worker productivity.
In this area, IA and ML are increasingly used to make decisions that complement those of humans.
Today, thanks to the capabilities of our Platform, we are developing a system for a customer in which each employee wears a wristband that warns them if there is any danger around them.
TREND #5: TRANSPARENCE AND TRACEABILITY
Gradually, and sometimes suddenly, consumers become more aware of how their data is collected and used, and organisations also recognise the increasing responsibility for storing and collecting data.
PoThere is a need to manage this crisis of confidence through ethics, integrity, openness, accountability, competition and consistency.
Legislation, such as the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is being enacted around the world, driving the evolution and setting the ground rules for organisations in terms of data management.
